Also , I wanted to inaugurate my » come back » with a top easy to carry in order to check my abilities » tailor-made » after 20 years of inactivity ;( I was not disappointed as the creative inspiration has become all throughout the realisation .
Level : Beginner – Timing : 3 hours – Cost : €
No pattern available, I use an existing a Maje top that I have copied on silk paper, at this moment I had not yet discovered the formidable Aime comme Must have pattern by Aime comme Marie.
I went fabrics shopping and I have caught a beckoning perforated leather ! I imagined its association with a semi thick jersey (230g) to manage to mix fabrics correctly and create the yoke as desired!
During the achievement, I added a strip (10 cm wide) all around the top to make it longer and deliver more especially held to it falls perfectly.
Tips :
The fabrics mix : To succeed a yoke , it is essential to select two materials of equal thickness or at least have enough shape (such as simili leather).
Perforated leather : Just cut with precision and exit hems 😉
Sidebands : I found an alternative to enlarge the width for comfort and avoid the side molding . The technique is to cut two strips of equal width on each side , do not hesitate to give it a try before cutting.
Pattern : Aime comme Must have by Aime comme Marie, 4 € only in digital.
Fabrics : black Jersey ( 40 in x 55in to UK8) and perforated leather (20in x 40in) – Mondial Tissu (6,90€/m).
