VESTE MICHELLE- REPUBLIQUE DU CHIFFON

Comme nombreuses de mes consœurs, je la réaliserai avec un tissu coton imprimé, plus léger et certainement plus malléable :)))

Après une virée compulsive aux abords du Marché Saint Pierre à Paris (soldes obligent !), j’ai choisi ce denim stretch pour plus de tenue de par son épaisseur.

Pour moi, le détail clé de cette veste est le col « châle » …Comment le mettre en exergue ????

Après plusieurs essais et hésitations matières (simili cuir, denim plus clair, coton noir,…), mon choix s’est porté sur la dentelle noir qui s’associe bien avec le denim !!! Ainsi, sur la base de la parmenture denim, j’ai superposé et cousu la dentelle par dessus afin de créer une parmenture col unique.

 

J’ai minutieusement suivi le pas à pas de République du chiffon, très précis et bien illustré. Merci Géraldine ! Je confirme l’étape la plus périlleuse est effectivement l’association de la 1ère parmenture devant au dos, liée au montage du col châle. Soyez concentrée à cette étape ! Aussi, j’ai opté pour la technique « maison » pour les montages doublure sur la parmenture bas mais le résultat est le même ;)))

Jacket MICHELLE by MyDress-Made

Feel like designing a jacket full half-season (note it is not bent, straight cut) to wear with a little skirt or skinny jeans, then opt for Michelle jacket! Like the Georgina dress, I vote for Republique du chiffon  (I love) ! This piece is a good compromise to discover or you exercise on techniques, such as the shawl collar (present on many jackets in store) or the lining.

As many of sewing addicts, I will realize with a printed cotton fabric, lighter and certainly more malleable :)))

After a « compulsive » shopping around the Marché Saint Pierre in Paris (sales at the moment), I chose this stretch denim for keeping its thickness.
For me, the key detail of this jacket is the  « shawl » collar … How highlight??
After several tests and materials hesitations (Leather, denim clearer, black cotton …), my choice fell on the black lace that combines well with the denim! Thus, based on parmenture denim, I sewed lace overlay and over to create a single parmenture neck.

 

I have carefully followed the Republic du chiffon tuto, very accurate and well illustrated. Thank you Geraldine ! I confirm the most perilous step is actually the combination of the first parmenture front to back, linked to mounting shawl collar. Be careful at this step ! So I opted for the « home made » technical arrangements for lining the bottom parmenture but the result is the same;)))

Tips:
« Frost the neck » : I insist on this valuable advice issued on the tutorial for optimum maintain of the neck (see link, step 8).
Enformes bottom sleeves : To avoid this step of sewing these enformes, add 1,6 inches to the length of the sleeves and fold when fitting sleeves.

Pattern : Michelle Jacket – Republique du chiffon paper pattern (15 €). Be careful, it still requires tracing certain pieces.
