After my first Wenona shirt by Named this experience gave me uninhibited and the desire to make a lot of shirts !!!!
So I ordered the small Johanna shirt by Republique du chiffon style “cowboy” and his crew neck for feminine side in the words of Geraldine;)))
As a tester for L’Atelier de Dina, France offered me a new Atelier Brunette “Bye bye Birdie Terracota” fabric caught my attention because it is a key color on A / H colors trends … It was also an opportunity to test cottons by Atelier Brunette (knowing that this print is a classic) and I like the seam to be different !!!!! This is the color that motivated me !!!.
Level : Intermediate – Timing : 3:30 – Cost: €€€
Once in hand I understood why the fabrics Atelier Brunette were also acclaimed in fact they have a good performance and very pleasant to sew.
After the Wenona shirt by Named, I chose to repeat the experience through Johanna shirt by Republique du chiffon. It must be said that it is easier to achieve because there are fewer special inserts on the sleeves.
Also I added a gold piping only on the front panels (everywhere at the moment and I found the association with the color “red”) and therefore I chose 10 gold buttons assorted unearthed in MAT at La Droguerie (I stress this point because matt gold buttons hard to find I hate the shiny gold !).
Overall, I carefully followed the tutorial from Republique du chiffon particularly clear for mounting the collar. Important: Although fusing passes and feet especially if cotton is to maximize end her outfit !!!! But I didn ‘kept the sleeves with slits tear-proof system through because I did not understand everything, ((So I left more room sewing so doing micro hemlines that the same technique than Wenona shirt by Named.
In conclusion, Johanna is generally easy to achieve especially when you do not have the habit of make;))) I must say I have only one desire: to make more shirts now that collar blockages and buttonholes are perfectly realized by my Juki;)))
