After the Tulipe » skirt by Dessine moi un patron, here is the famous Violette blouse … In search of blouses for this A / W, as soon as I saw it, I loved her cut and the detail on back ! That is why I am eager to make two versions and I dared the printed fabric I say I dared because I wanted to get out of uni color and the piping has the virtue of to enhance the detail of the back even on a printed fabric;)))
Thus, you’ll find two versions: one made in a printed « hearts » silk by Bennytex and the second in a « Mr & Mrs Flamands roses » viscose by HenryetHenriette
It gives me the opportunity to show you the possibilities that this Violette blouse allows. This timeless cut is a safe value if you’re looking like me a shirt to wear in the office as the week end ;))))
Level : Intermediate – Timing : 2:30 (for version « Silk » otherwise 1h30 for viscose version) – Cost : €€€
The Violette blouse does not present any particular difficulty. You will need to be careful on two key steps that are carrying back. Indeed, once you realize the folds, you should put the famous piping that will be the key detail on the back because it will value the folds. To succeed seam of piping, I recommend using the « zip » sewing foot to sew closer. I must say that this trick was on « Silk » version. Indeed fluidity complicates this milestone clearly more « easy » with cotton or viscose.
If you choose a printed fabric, I recommend using a plain piping remained button with one of the colors of print: for « hearts », I chose white piping cotton and denim pipping for Flemish pink.
Once this step, you realize the two sides regarding the buttonhole and observe the marks shown on the 2 yokes and also check that the buttonhole and the buttons on the right side. Note that for « Silk » version I use viseline to give more consistency to put the odds on my side at the time of completion of the buttonhole.
Finally, I realized the two folds in the front and rear handles, this detail fully values the sleeves.
In conclusion, the Violette blouse is now one of my favorite patterns because it has all the advantages that I like: timeless, simple, available to wish and to wear without moderation.
