This is a first for me to share a “combo” for my taste and especially my style … A discovery: “tulipe” skirt by Dessine moi un patron associated with the Majestic by Aime comme Marie & Cousette. Two pieces that come together perfectly: the meeting of silk and jacquard … Wahoo !!!!!
Let’s start with the skirt “tulip” … A few months ago I discovered a young woman and her sigma dress in “flamingos” print … And a picture that challenges: Emilie and her scissors and here I make the link with her IS nickname : Dessine moi un patron.… And my favorite “Pretty Merecrie” announces the launch of its collection of patterns … And I say that fond “addict” of news, I knew that I will not be disappointed: chic , original and great style !!!!
Before testing the “tulipe” skirt, I already had in mind to make the skirt in a consistent pattern with the details of the drops;))) Essential to have consistency to give volume to the skirt!
For this new version of the Majestic by Aime comme Marie & Cousette, after the release by pearl gray cotton by Pretty Mercerie, I chose to take up the challenge: “nude” silk by Pretty Mercerie … Thank you Marion for making dreams reality, I despaired of finding one day a beautiful silk especially powder pink …
Level : Intermediate – Timing : 5:30 for 2 – Cost : €€€
Let’s start with the “tulipe” skirt by Dessine moi un patron … She also exists in dress but I must say the freezing cold appearing I immediately opted for the skirt. Spotted Toto Tissus with “drop” motif was obvious to this first. Also, to give “tulip” scale, it is important to choose a consistent fabric (here 300 gr) and well postpone benchmarks for folds.
Once made folds, I set up the pockets with the edge of pockets (never seen before) that delivers a beautiful finish pockets. Moreover, I have decorated with a black leather piping detail for “chic” by inserting it during assembly pockets. Please refer to the explanations and pictures particularly for laying the pocket edge.
Moreover, many of you have reported the length too “mini” and I added 2 inches longer automatically. I recommend you do it if it’s actually a bit short.
In short, it is for me THE “tulipe” skirt real generous in size and very chic, to associate with a shirt or a blouse …
That’s why I wanted to combine the “tulipe” skirt a new version of the Majestic by Aime comme Marie & Cousette, conducted this time in silk. To do so, I took out a “nude” silk by Pretty Mercerie jealously guarded for the model “so chic”. It’s been ages since I expected to find this pink powder and Pretty Mercerie made this “dream” possible, I am totally “fan” of the color synonymous “class”. To raise the collar, I chose gold piping that combines perfectly with the “nude”!
I will not dwell on the achievement of Majestic by Aime comme Marie & Cousette, to review the version of pearl gray cotton by Pretty Mercerie.
In conclusion, Majestic by Aime comme Marie & Cousette, is clearly one of my favorite model to decline in different fabrics: cotton, viscose crepe … and silk. Note that you will need patience and meticulousness to work silk especially when laying the piping because the fluidity of silk request to have the foot extremely “light” on sewing machine. Again, feel free to use the foot “zip” to the tidal sewing piping for a perfect finish.
