Just a few months you discovered my first skater dress by Coralie Bijasson mesh neoprene, to review … Besides I want to thank you for your enthusiasm on this occasion … Thanks !!!!
Regarding the theme of next party and not just any “Jungle Safari”, the challenge (though Inari zebra dress could be agreed)! But I wanted to make a piece exclusively for this event. After searching in my fabrics stock (and I can tell you it is well supplied I dare not count), I chose this neoprene “Zebra” by Bennytex bought in May. As you know, I love this fabric for its consistency (380 gr) and especially nice sewing;))) To see my latest embossed neoprene jacket !
Once in hands, I had in mind a touch of “jungle safari” so in moderation … The alternative: the bi materials.
So in the interests of harmony, I decided to make the neoprene skirt to give scale to this skater and black faux leather sobriety.
Level: Intermediate – Timing : 3:30 – Cost : €€€
For this new version, I found the same ease as neo resille dress release. Again, the cutting skater dress is just perfect … I dare say since there is no editing or adjustment to do! The top is properly fitted with the clamps and I appreciate the ingenuity of the assembly of the front / back delivering a flawless finish.
To moderate print “zebra” and keep the “chic” of the cut, I chose to include the back yoke notched resuming neoprene black faux leather. The inlay is easily achieved and especially you keep this perfectly adjusted notch.
Given the thickness of 2 neoprene fabrics, this requires a good needle and particularly meticulous in steps of laying the belt and zip on the side. Indeed, imitation leather neoprene leaves no room for error when it leaves stitched stitches, so vigilance) Nevertheless, it has an advantage it is not necessary to perform a hem (especially it would increase the skater skirt) so be precise when cutting;)))
Pattern: Skater Dress by Coralie Bijasson – C’est moi le patron (€ 17.50)
Fabrics: Neoprene zebra print (1m x 1.50m Width) and faux leather (1.50m x 1.50m Width) by Bennytex – € 8 / m
A bientôt
Anne
