When I took over the seam there over a year, I discovered Tilly and the Buttons and his universe: colorful and mind somewhat “vintage”. Even if the style is somewhat my style, I flashed on the Mathilde blouse by Tilly and the Buttons for detail folds and sleeves “puff” to review 🙂
Tilly offers some timeless models, and the release of the Dress Bettine by Tilly and the buttons, I was stopped by the various options and especially déclinables with several variants of fabrics.
For this first version, I wanted to highlight the details of further pockets, rounded and well drawn. To enhance the skirt “tulip”, I took the risk of using this “pierced” flower fabric in “green water” color by Bennytex. It certainly reminds you my “open” set already achieved in navy version whose objective was also to play on the overlay and suggest knees with openwork;))))

Few fan of green color, I must say that the color of “green water” like a “jade” color and of course these two edges of “pierced” flowers. This last detail is key for me because everything is suggested and undeniably falls within the garment. So I took the risk on Bettine dress to use this fabric despite its transparency and fluidity (it’s slippery!). Apart from these pockets, I wanted to further raise the Bettine whose cut remains altogether traditional.
Once cut, I lined all pieces (except of course pockets) limiting the liner above the perforated edges;)))
Overall no particular difficulty, provided the tutorial is very explicit. I found that the “tulip” effect on skirt was too pronounced therefore I extended straight-type pencil skirt (especially since the length is below the knee). The two key steps:
– The realization of the pockets to make sure they are well equi distance from the center and well plated especially if you choose to like me a fluid material.
– The implementation of the “tunnel” for the insertion of elastic. No surprise I resumed the technique of Delphi dress by Named, used on all my pieces with elastic. Beautiful finishes guarantees and quick to make;)))
Tip: I have added 0,8 in to leave me enough room to make my tunnel;))
